Job Description

Peartree House Rehabilitation is a 38 bedded private specialist centre dedicated to the rehabilitation of adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and long term neurological conditions which is based in Bitterne, Southampton.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and motivated day and night care teams. You will work closely with other healthcare assistants, Nurses, OTs, Physiotherapist, Speech & Language Therapist and psychology. Our staffing levels are very good which gives you more time to care and increases sense of achievement for you.

The job involves delivering care to our clients to meet their varying needs in the following areas:

  • Nutrition
  • Personal care
  • Activities
  • Assisting with medication
  • Staying safe etc

Brain Injury Support workers-Community based

Extensive training programmes and opportunities to progress within the services

Peartree Community Service (part of Peartree House Rehabilitation) is a highly specialist service providing assessment, treatment, management and support to people with an acquired brain injury (ABI) or neurological disorder. We provide neuro- rehabilitation and long term care in our units in Southampton and to individuals in their own homes.

We are recruiting for our client who is in his 40s and lives at home with a support package. We are looking to recruit 2 staff to join his existing team. The individuals we are looking for will have a passion for supporting people with brain injury maximise their functional independence and well-being. The individual you will support will need help with personal hygiene, grooming, complex behaviour support, health, food/nutrition, housekeeping, social, leisure, managing personal affairs and attending to other activities of interest in the wider community.

You will be expected to work on a rota basis including sleeping nights which are paid at £7.80.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly developed team. In return we will offer a very competitive salary, training and support from very experienced and knowledgeable MDT (occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychology, speech and language therapist & senior support workers), support to undertake qualifications such as Care certificate, Diploma Level 3, Brain Injury specific qualifications.

Care experience is essential for this post though training will be provided. A valid full UK driving license is essential.
